ICSOT 2010 (Ship & Offshore Technology) will take place between 11th to 12th Nov. at NaSDEC building, ITS Campus, Surabaya, Indonesia.
Ship & Offshore Technology - takes "Development in Ship Design & Construction" as the theme. The latest developments in ship design and construction that will provide improvements in productivity and cost competitiveness required to respond to demands for lower cost of ownership and greater environmental sensitivity will be presented.
Höganäs will present a join paper to address the demands for lower cost of ownership in line with the theme of this conference. Successfully reclaiming critical parts with laser cladding is an opportunity for both lower cost and reduced environmental impact. The paper "Propeller Shaft Repair for a Large Ferry with the Aid of Laser Cladding Technique" will be presented by Nicholas Kampanis and Ingrid Hauer. Our thanks to Roussakis S.A. in whose modern ship repair facility the propeller shaft was reconditioned with laser cladding.
