Glass recycling in India
AIGMF glass recycling seminar will take place 29th June at Taj Krishna Hotel, Hyderabad. India.
All India Glass Manufacturers' Federation (AIGMF) is organizing the "glass recycling" seminar where the challanges and opportunities will be presented. This will be followed by deliberation during a panel discussion with the speakers.

Re-Use of Glass Scrap : Global trends for reusing glass scrap ( Cullets ) is around 60% and above whereas in countries like Sweden it is as high as 93%. In India it is around 40%. It is mandatory to re-use glass scrap in Europe and US. Whereas in India there is no such laws as of now. But it is expected that government rules will soon force such rules and also impose CO2 taxation.
Benefits of using Glass Scrap ( Cullets ): 10% decrease in the fuel cost, increase in the furnace life and less pollution. Quality of Glass improves and problems like seed and bubbles can be eliminated.
